It all started with a well-worn leather chair from the early 1970's....looks harmless enough, right?
Here's the starting point
First - remove the cushion (2 snaps - very simple) - then the leather support straps are removed...
...and 1" x 6" finish pine boards added along the sides and a 1" x 10" board makes the "platform" at the top
Another piece of 1"x 10" pine screwed to the bottom of the legs provides bracing / stability for the rudder pedals
Here the rudder pedals (TM RCS) are set into the bracing
Another shot of the rudder bracing
The 1" thick side board provide sturdy mounting for my TM Cougar HOTAS. I use small clamps to hold the stick / throttle firmly in place.
I made a small stool (only temporary) that fits over the crossbar - my weight helps hold the entire framework in place.
Here the complete structural sub-assembly - with Cougar and dual-Master Pilots in place.
And finally - here it is set up in front of the monitor. Hook up takes 30 seconds: 1x USB for MPs / 1x USB for Cougar (stick/throttle/rudder)
